Synopsis: Lotao is a company that sells Indian jackfruits (among other products) particularly in Germany as a healthy and sustainable alternative for meat. However, jackfruit supply from smallholder farmers is cumbersome and irregular, and it is a challenge to standardize good quality of the product.

Our role: DIBcoop formulated for the client a proposal with specific solutions for the general downsides in the jackfruit production. We structured the existent jackfruit value chain into a more professional, reliable, pro-poor and environmentally friendly, and notably profitable business exercise that fits international standards. 1200+ farmers got trained with the learning by doing format.
